Traditional Main Floor Renovation with Modern Touches
[Main Floor Portion]
These clients are return clients *three times over*! Having built two custom homes for them in the past, they came to us for this special remodel most recently. We restructured this house for full wheelchair accessibility:
• brought multi-level flooring to single level
• relocated valves
• custom built an accessible master bathroom with elegant and comfortable shower seating.
• built a zero-threshold shower (a walk-in shower in which the bathroom floor and shower floor are flush – there is no sill to step over which makes it easy for a wheelchair to roll right into the shower)
The house was updated into a Traditional style throughout, including details such as granite kitchen countertops, a Delta faucet, ceramic bathroom tile, a Euro glass door, a stainless steel undercounter sink, a ceramic kitchen backsplash, real white oak flooring that was sanded and stained to the clients’ color choice, a granite top with undercounted oval bathroom sink, and a Delta “Wide Spread” faucet.
MAIN FLOOR:
Linoleum, carpet and old hardwood flooring was replaced with 4.25”-wide real white oak flooring that was sanded and stained to the clients’ color choice. The raised landing was eliminated to create one level through the main floor for wheelchair accessibility.
